What is a Yurt?
A Yurt is a domed circular structure with a center opening to the sky, and light from above. They have their roots in the ancient of times,in Turkey and Mongolia. The Mongolian name is Ger.
Historicaly, Yurts were a fleece covered dwelling place, often animal hides were used, along with wool. They are still in use all over the world, and are becoming very popular in our times.
Today, the modern yurt has many uses.
Yurts can be lived in year round in any climate, from the Pacific Northwest , to the climates of cold New England.
